Welcome to the website for Gosforth Camera Club, Newcastle upon Tyne: a friendly club which was founded in 1949 and currently has over 60 members. If you are interested in improving your photography - whether digital or film - we can help you with advice, encouragement, examples and inspiration. Our activities include presentations by members and external speakers, competitions (both digital and print), “Summer Schools”, workshops and outings.
Our regular meetings take place from September to May, on Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm in the upstairs function room of the Duke of Wellington pub (20 Kenton Lane, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE3 3BQ). For members who cannot attend in person, we transmit the meetings over Zoom in “hybrid” fashion: members are given details of the Zoom codes to join in. As a bonus, using Zoom allows us to invite presentations from photographers from far afield, even from as far as California, although the majority of our speakers and competition judges do come to the pub in person.
Should you wish to try out the club, then the first three sessions you attend are complimentary. If you then decide to join us, you will be given full access to all of the club's facilities. To gain access to the Zoom meetings, please email our secretary at gosforthcameraclub@hotmail.com.
